Using the Check-In Page in Carrot

How to use the Check-In page to greet customers as they arrive, track who's being helped, and manage your walk-in queue.

The Check-In page is where front-of-house staff greet customers as they arrive at the store, whether they are walking in or arriving for a pickup order. It is located in the main navigation, above the Fulfillment section.

In Store and Pickup Tabs

The Check-In page has two tabs:

  • In Store — A rolling list of customers who have recently checked in with your POS, including a mix of registered Carrot customers and POS-only guests. Each entry shows the customer's name (or "POS-Only Guest" if they aren't linked to a Carrot profile), their phone number if known, and roughly how long ago they checked in.

  • Pickup — Customers arriving to collect an online pickup or curbside order.

A toggle at the top of the In Store tab, Hide Online Orders, lets you filter out customers who are only here to pick up an online order so you can focus on walk-in traffic.

Claiming a Customer

Click Claim Customer on a customer's card to indicate a budtender has started helping them. Claimed customers move to the Being Helped panel, so the rest of the team can see who is already assisted and who is still waiting.

Queue

The Queue panel on the right side of the page shows how many customers are currently waiting. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the count manually (for example, if someone steps outside or a new walk-in arrives before they've checked in with the POS), or click Reset to clear the queue back to zero.

The Customers In Store counter below the queue shows a live count of everyone currently checked in at the location.
